Technical Innovation is pleased to present our own comprehensive continuing education course, accredited by the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association for their members. In addition, we are also pleased to present a number of other AIA- and IIDA-certified courses in conjunction with some of our vendor partners.
Here are details on some of the educational options available:
Integrating Group Communication Technology into Facilities
Presented by Technical Innovation
This well-developed one-hour seminar will give attendees 1) an understanding of technology trends for group communications, 2) an introduction to new and current technology in displays, 3) an overview of current network cable and wireless specifications, and 4) an overview of video conference room considerations. By utilizing an interactive format, we encourage maximum audience participation and increase learning retention.
AV Control Systems and Energy-Efficient Applications
Presented by AMX
In this one-hour course, attendees will be introduced to the idea if using a whole-building control and automation system to contribute to the energy efficiency in all building types. Participants will learn practical solutions for integrating control systems and the possible contribution a control system could have in a project seeking LEED certification.
AV Control Systems for Commercial Properties
Presented by AMX
In this one-hour course, attendees will have the opportunity to 1) understand the principles of an A/V control system, 2) learn about issues that must be considered when designing for a control system, 3) observe the functional roles of each piece of a control system, and 4) see examples of an A/V control system in commercial applications.
Audio-Video Integration in the Office
Presented by Crestron
Integrating architecture and technology together is more important than ever in today’s network-enabled world. It’s about allowing non-technical users to easily access, operate, and monitor complicated devices and systems critical for success in today’s business environment. This course provides the design professional with a fundamental understanding of commercial low-voltage control system concept and design considerations required for these systems to operate at their optimum level.
Please note: This course is certified for AIA credit only.
Daylighting 201: A Simple Guide to Motorized Shades and Controls
Presented by Draper
How the benefits of natural light can be maximized and energy conserved through the proper specification of motorized shades and controls. An explanation of how motorized shades provide a superior opportunity for energy savings compared to manual shades. Correctly specified shades can meet the needs of the individual and at the same time assist in optimizing total building efficiency. How can motorized shades balance these two factors more economically than manual shades? Motorized and manual shades can both lead to a number of LEED credits. Why do motorized shades in particular provide the strongest case for achieving them?
Please note: This course is certified for AIA credit only.
Window Shades 101: A Fabric Selection Guide
Presented by Draper
A comprehensive strategy for selecting window shade fabrics, reviewing elements such as texture, health, safety and energy conservation along with case studies indicating substantial energy savings through selecting the correct window shade fabric. After completion of the program, participants will be able to select the correct window shade fabric while balancing health, safety, welfare, aesthetic and energy conservation issues.
